My, that was a quick week, and a good one.
Tuesday night was the inaugural MicroESD mingle. A gathering of like minded ESD startups and sole traders. Nicki and I have been working on it together and we have a discussion list and will soon have a collaborative website – as soon as I make it. It was great to chat with people and get out some of my extrovert wriggles, as well as make some good connections for possible work.
Then on Wednesday my husband and I went to the inaugural meeting of NorthernMakers, who are a group of people trying to startup a “maker space” similar to this space in San Francisco. James and I went and visited TechShop when we were in San Francisco, and loved the idea that we could pay a monthly membership for access to really awesome equipment and space to make things. I suggested a space like this in the masterplanning project I worked on earlier this year – imagine the benefits of a space like this to residents of a large multi-residential development.
Anyway, today is backup day. Also, setup a MicroESD website day and make phone calls to followup those emails I finally sent day.
