I’m heading back to work today.  I’ve had a lovely holiday, but there’s stuff to do and so I’ll sit here in my kitchen and get some work done.  As a bonus, it will mean getting paid sometime and that’s got to be good, right?

I’m thinking about the change in my life now.  How when you work in an office and you get back from the Christmas shutdown you don’t get much done in the first hour or so.  Or you think you won’t.  You sit down at your desk and look around for people to talk to about your holiday.  Often they’re not around, or they have already spoken to ten people about it and are over it.  So you check your email and then try to remember what you had to get done this week.

Think of this post as that chat.  The one you want but don’t necessarily have until later in the day.
